Ready Or Not…

Up to this point I’ve been excited for the upcoming election, but tonight my excitement is bubbling over.

About 5 minutes ago, I watched Barack Obama’s ad highlighting his “plan.” I’ve heard him say the same things over and over again, yet it never resounded as much as it did a few minutes ago.

After reading this post about 30 minutes ago, I was a little on edge. Its writer was clear in saying everyone needs to be prepared for what’s to come. The change that Obama is about to bring is going to be both progressive and reflective. His most recent ad helped draw me away from the edge if just for a minute.

The facade is about to quickly be ripped off the face of this country and expose it’s flaws for what they are, and everyone needs to be prepared. We’re blessed enough as U.S. citizens to not have to endure endless genocide and terrorism, at least at the same level as experienced in other countries. However our blessing is also a curse because when the “shat” hits the fan, are we going to be ready?

I don’t know what the future holds for certain, but I know it’s not going to be easy. No matter what any white racist, pompous black, or evangelical has to say, Obama is what we need. Of course he can’t solve our problems, but like any good leader, he can help direct us into the light.

READY OT NOT, HERE IT COMES!!!!

Reckless Words!

First, please excuse the expletives in this post…

You know, some people are so caught up in themselves and their progression, they can’t take a minute to pause and respect the life of another.

For sometime now I have been parousing through the postings at Sandra Rose’s blog.

Although she continuously says she’s not a journalist (when she’s not spreading false or speculated information, oh wait that’s almost always the case with her) but she loves to act like one. Hmmmm… Are you a journalist or not.

She’s been all over a tragic event this weekend, which I won’t name as this is not an attempt to garner readers to my unimportant piece of a blog. In post after post, she seemed to have a heart by not taking her usual route of exploitation.

However, when I visited her blog this morning and ran across this article I could’ve slapped the European SHAT out of her.

How dare you disrespect a family that is grieving with your “private eye.” Okay, say you’re right, WHO CARES???? Everyone in that family right now, hopefully, is grieving and you have NOOOO right to interfere with that process because you feel a hunch. Some hunches are better kept inside. But I know that if you’re right, you’ll be able to take credit for saying you bought that news to us first!

I’m usually not one to insult folk because it’s not my place, but you my dear Wilted Rose need to hear that some things are better left alone. Just a little bit of tact is something that will get you much, much further than none at all.

If you’re going to be a journalist, than please be one. If not, please stick to “urban blogging” because you’re obvious lack of emotion to anyone other than Tiny, T.I. and Monica will surely be your demise…

Life Ain’t That Serious

It’s really not. Okay, maybe a little, but sheesh.

We go through so much stress and turmoil over everyday situations. We set up these humongous goals that are very hard to fulfill and when they go unfulfilled we beat ourselves down. We ignore all the things that really matter in life, like good health and sound mind, and focus on the irrelevant like money, expensive cars and movie stars.

Not saying that the latter have no place in life, but the most important things should be at the forefront. STOP!!!! letting people stress you out because they’re lazy. STOP!!!! allowing angry, rude, bitter people to raise your blood pressure. YOU are in control of your life and emotions.

When we all take a step out of cloud 9 and realize we all dwell on the same earth, experience the same joy and pain, then just maybe…. just maybe there will be some harmony. Until then, LIVE LIFE without expectation. Don’t expect to be a failure.

YES, SET GOALS AND MEET THEM. However, don’t expect everything to go your way! Don’t expect everything to go 100% as planned without bumps in the road or tweaking your goals a little. When you’re inflexible, you break! And that’s what I see daily. A whole bunch of broken people who set out to do one thing in life, set the bar too high/stern and plummeted when they didn’t reach the top how or when they wanted.

Set a goal you know you can reach, reach it and then set another goal; like climbing a ladder. If you don’t know how to count, don’t try to teach math. You must know 1+1= 2 before you learn Avogadro’s number.

I just had to share this because so much in life that should matter often doesn’t. Learn who you are, be who you are and except others when they show you who they are. STOP trying to change people and let life take it’s course…

K, I’m done. Thanks…. lol.

So….

Today was good. I sent my ex boss my notice of departure on Saturday so she wouldn’t be shocked and appalled today when I told her this would be my last week.

To my surprise, she didn’t act as if she was phased. I know the truth, however, you cereal muncher…

But, it feels so good to finally be transitioning to a position where I know I’ll be appreciated and rewarded for my hard work. I start this upcoming Monday and will be working my behind off towards my goal.

In other news, this is sooooooooooooo “not the business.”

Foxy Brown done gone and showed her “true roots” and something about that mangled mane isn’t sitting right on my stomach…. Yet, I digress and I hope she’ll follow suit…

Hmm… Life…

Is good. Though at times it’s confusing, I hold on to the promise that things always improve.

After a year of searching for a job that would not only pay me my worth but help solidify my future, I’ve finally found one.

I would share more about the next gig but I’ve learned that the internet isn’t the best method of sharing unless you like stalkers. If you know me and want the inside scoop, hit me up.

Since I’ve had this blog for several months now and have posted nothing, I’ve decided to make a habit of writing from time to time to keep my writing sharp. So sit back and enjoy my inkwell, there’s more to come.
